Are we “one with” the universe?

Welcome to the new followers of this blog. This blog is an attempt to share deep spiritual ideas with no prejudice, either for or against, any particular religious belief system. I don’t care whether you are Christian, Buddhist, Wiccan, Muslim, Jainist, a follower of ancient gods, a believer in Hinduism, or, even an atheist!

Preposterous! How can I make such a statement? Simply because, on the spiritual level, we are all the same. We are spiritual beings making a journey through the material world. This is the part of you to whom I wish to speak in this blog.

Whether you agree with my thoughts, or disagree, please engage with me.  Let me know what your feel in the “Comments” or by the e-mail address I provide at the end of this post. It’s only by engaging with each other that we can exercise our “spiritual muscles”.

You in the universe; the universe in you

On the outside, we all travel through the same universe, on the same planet. On the inside, the same universe is traveling through us!  Although our physical senses seem to tell us otherwise, we cannot be separated from the universe. We are an indivisible part of it. How can this be?

Of course, our body is formed from information contained in the DNA provided by our parents. However, this has very little to do with the energies, forces, thoughts, and consciousness that sustain us throughout our life. An amazingly huge band (spectrum) of the vibrations and energies of our universe flows through us every single day. Yet, with our physical senses, we are aware of less than 1% of this!

So, you may ask, “What’s the point”? My point is that every human being is the expression of our universe. It flows through him and sustains his life. Regardless of our beliefs, we are all an inseparable part of the very same universe. Yet, we are physically conscious of only a very tiny part of these energies.

Spiritual Development

Spiritual development includes, becoming aware of, and learning how to use, this vast array of forces and energies of which we are presently unconscious. This is our future spiritual potential. A fully developed, spiritual human being is the expression of the universe in human form. He has truly become “one with” the universe.

ida pingala

The spinal column is the pathway by which the powers and forces of the universe flow into and out of our human body. This vast range of energies stretches upward, from the low, dense vibrations of the physical, through several layers, to the higher, intensely powerful vibrations of the spiritual realm.  Thus, the entire array of vibrations, all the way from earth to heaven, flow through a human being. It is claimed that there are up to 72,000 energy channels in the body, but, all of these shoot off from one main channel.

This main energy channel is the Sushuma. There are also two other channels, the Ida and the Pin-gala, which are electrically charged oppositely to each other. In fact, it is these two channels that are pictured in the caduceus, the familiar, winged symbol of the medical profession.

“Heaven and Earth”

There is another way in which we humans can be “one with” our universe. A developed human being is capable of joining together heaven and earth, or, bringing the power of the spiritual into the physical level. He is able to bring powerful, spiritual energies into the earth region, to help both himself and others. He may act as a sort of spiritual “lightning rod”to help better earthly conditions. In my opinion, this has often been done by spiritual masters of the past, or our planet would be in much worse condition than it is today.

Raising consciousness; raising our body

Our spiritual advancement occurs in the following way. Choosing a spiritual practice which is harmonious to us, we pursue it regularly. This practice enables us to bring in spiritual thoughts and energies. Over a prolonged period, these higher thoughts and energies will have a purifying effect on both our thoughts and consciousness.  The general level of our bodily vibrations will gradually, and steadily, raise over time, so that we become more spiritual in our nature.

I hope that you have enjoyed this discussion.  My basic training in spirituality was established by studying the Ancient Wisdom for ten years under a Master Teacher of the Tibetan tradition. I have also continued a meditation practice for many years.

Please support this blog by posting comments. I would also appreciate you sharing it with others that you feel would benefit. There are several social media sites listed at the end to share this blog with others. I would certainly appreciate it.

What is missing in Spirituality?

What People do to be Spiritual

I have done a lot of investigation into what people actually do to try to be more spiritual. This includes both the internet and outer activities. Please don’t think that I’m being critical of these things, I’m merely trying to show that something very important is missing in these activities.  This is what I’ve found:

  • People keep going to the same church, once a week, without any change.
  • Members of internet spiritual groups argue endlessly about the meaning of spiritual terms, such as, “enlightenment”, “master”, “”nirvana”, etc.
  • People, especially younger ones, join various pagan or magic groups featuring ancient gods and ritual practices.
  • Members of various social media and spiritual groups constantly put on serene, beautiful, pictures, sometimes with wise sayings from sources such as the Tao Te Ching, The Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, Ru-mi, etc.
  • People spend many hours in chat groups about spirituality.
  • More people are reading books about the spiritual.
  • Members of social media groups often proclaim the rightness of their particular belief, while belittling others.
  • People join a variety of outer groups, which they believe to be spiritually oriented.

Once again, please do not think that I am being critical of these actions.  There is good in all of them.  However, none of these, by themselves will lead to the spiritual growth that the person probably desires.  Why?  Because there is something missing that is essential to spiritual growth.

What is it that’s Missing?

The essential thing missing in all of these is an individual spiritual practice.  This is a physical practice that you, an individual, feel will help you spiritually grow.  It’s primary purpose is to help you to turn inward.  Within you is where the “one pearl of great price” (Matt. 13:46), the spiritual wisdom, is to be found.  All true spiritual practices help you to find your inner spiritual Self. However, you must commit to a spiritual practice on a regular basis.  Spiritual growth does not come quickly, especially if one does not diligently pursue it.

This practice must be an individual choice.  The right practice is as individual in its nature as you are. Beware of those who say only their way is the right way.  But, how does a person know if a practice is a spiritual practice that is right for them?

When is a Practice right for You?

  • It shows you a deeper meaning and purpose in life.
  • It feels comfortable and meaningful for you, not just because others are doing it.
  • It reveals a deeper reality than the outer world.
  • It helps you feel more compassionate and understanding.
  • It helps to lift your thinking and emotions upward.
  • It shows you how to apply its principles in everyday life.
  • It is helps you grow with mind and heart working together.
  • It helps you grow away from base desires and emotions.
  • After time, you still feel that you are making spiritual progress.  Don’t judge too soon.  Spiritual progress is often slow to appear in the physical world.

I do not claim to be a Yogi, a Buddhist, a follower of Hinduism, a Sufi, a Christian, a follower of Zoroaster, or a follower of any other organized belief system.  I am rather an initiate of that Ancient Wisdom which lies beneath them all.

My personal spiritual practice includes meditation, breathing practices, writing, and some yoga. I wish to help you find the spiritual practice that is right for you. If you have already found it, this blog will encourage you with spiritual insights, deeper knowledge, and clues to give you more strength to continue on your way.  We all need this. This is what this bog is about.  I invite you to subscribe.

I spent ten years as an initiate and student of a Master of The Ancient Wisdom Teachings, so that I could help people to grow spiritually.  Please give me some feedback through the comment section and I will be in touch to help you in your individual spiritual journey in any way that I can.

The Human Spiritual Circle

Your GPS Guide to The Infinite

By Michael W Alvin, D.D., PhD

Pastor of Living Circle of Light Church

I haven’t written on this blog for about one year now.  My original idea in writing it was, to the best of my ability, to share any wisdom, from others or myself, that is of a spiritual nature.  My purpose was to encourage individual spiritual development and provide practical information leading to the raising of consciousness in my readers.

My qualifications for writing this type of blog include ten years living with, and as a student of, a Teacher of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings of a Tibetan tradition and lineage. This included the practice of Yoga and meditation.  I also have a PhD in Comparative Religions, as well as a lifetime of investigation into the wisdom traditions.

After a year of blogging, I became discouraged by the idea that men and women weren’t interested in seeking this type of wisdom and development anymore. It seemed that my blog attracted no further subscribers and that individuals were more interested in expanding material interests rather than spiritual ones.  I wrote no new posts for about a year.

During this time, I have been writing a book about the stages of the human life cycle. Much new knowledge has been revealed to me about the inner life of Man.  This is a kind of knowledge which has not been known for a long time.  With each new life stage of the individual human being, something new is revealed to help him embrace the next stage.  But, this knowledge has remained hidden because people have not been taught how to listen to the quiet inner self or rely on its messages.

Meanwhile, many individuals have insisted that people really do want to know about these inner messages of human life.  I have gained many new “followers” on the social media who want me to tell them about the ancient wisdom teachings.

So, I have decided to write once again on my blog.  I approach this with new excitement, new energy, and a new vision.  I will write at least once a week on my blog with new information about human life which has not been before revealed.  Just read some of my previous blogs and you will find that my blog posts are quite different from the usual ones.  They are aimed at revealing and explaining the spiritual nature of our life cycle, not just the physical.

I ask you, my readers, to please reveal your interests and thoughts by commenting on my blogs.  This will help me to assess whether or not these new thoughts are getting through to you or if I need to change my approach.  Please give me some “feedback” on this.  It is with a new joy that I continue my Spiritual blog. Please let me know that you share the joy with me!

The Stages of Spirituality

The Human Spiritual Circle

Your GPS Guide to The Infinite

Our Body is Our Temple

In our last discussion, we learned that birth as a human is a necessary part of our spiritual journey.  It’s the way that we become individual beings, discover our divine heritage, and develop our spiritual abilities.  It is the way that we, as artists, paint our lives.

The first stage of life lasts from conception to young adulthood. Of course, our bodies are formed during this period.  Our basic worldview and beliefs are provided by parents and our first social contacts. This stage includes building a foundation from body to brain, including our core ego structure.

A second stage begins at 18-21 years old. Each stage challenges us with a change of direction.  A young adult must choose their own worldview and beliefs out of many possibilities that society offers. Will they stay loyal to the beliefs of their parents or select different ones from the many values offered by friends and society?

Too many choices; so little time!

The young adult must establish career and home, choose a mate, and deal with the possibility of having children. This is a time during which they will determine just how materialistic they will become in their attempt to establish security in the world.  This often just happens “unconsciously”  because many young adults never consciously think about this.

Society tries to convince all of us that we can only become important if they can fit us into the value system and hierarchy that they’ve created.  I’ve got news for them.  Society can’t give anyone a value from the outside because we are already valuable inside!

You have Spiritual value-  you are an inseparable part of God and the Universe.  The value of our material life is the same for everyone-    it is the developing of a material ego and overcoming it through developing the Spirit.  This has nothing to do with your particular “place” in society or the society in which you live.

Scientists, psychologists, sociologists, and educators haven’t got a clue about the purpose of our human life.  Educators and leaders of society have been lying to us our whole life about who we are.  I guess they really don’t have a choice about lying-   they don’t really know why we’re here and they certainly don’t want to look dumb!

It’s obvious that they don’t know why we are here because they’ve invested oodles of money and time in scientific investigations for some time just to find out.  They often brag about how effective their methods of investigation are, but, I’m not that impressed.

scientif method

Perhaps I’m impatient, but if I hired someone to find why something happened, I’d be frustrated if the results weren’t more substantial than those of science.  They’ve been at this for about 400 years or more!  It seems a tad bit impractical for the average human being with a life expectancy of 78 years.  Most have died or will be dead before we have a guide to our purpose for existence.  Sorry, but I’ve always been searching for something that would give my individual life some meaning.

Opposition of the Physical to the Spiritual

Science will never be able to find the meaning of our individual lives by the investigation of matter,  Matter is the opposite of the spiritual.  Things are very separated from each other in the physical. They are very limited and exist for a brief period of time. Matter is dense and deceptive and makes it difficult to see reality.  It manifests by means of opposites, such as light and dark, male and female, inner and outer, etc.  Matter exists in a perpetual state of change and unrest.

The Spiritual is opposite in its nature.  It is the realm of Reality.  In the Spirit, things are in a state of one-ness in which opposites are seen in a unity.  It is a realm of limitless light, energy, and peace.

The pain and problems of the dense physical level are healed by bringing in the powers, light, mind, and one-ness of the Spiritual. This raises and purifies the physical energies and expressions.

god heart

The Third Stage of Life

The first two stages of the human lifecycle involve building a physical form and functioning by means of an ego self.  The third stage arrives at what is commonly called, “middle-age”.  This is an important part of life which one reachs about age 36-42. The middle-age crisis occurs for a reason psychologists don’t realize.

This is the point at which the individual should begin to physically express his Being (spiritual nature).  He has become a successful “householder” and it’s time for the trip back to his real nature.  He should begin to develop his spirituality.  In “The Keys to Spirituality”, a post I made on 1/30, I compared this stage to a caterpillar fighting its way out of a cocoon (materiality).

Previous to this stage, the person expressed his ego, also called his “personality” from the root “personae” or mask.  It is called a mask because he wears it, thinking that it is really himself.  He has been conditioned by society to believe that it is him.

The important part of this third transition is to determine what is truly YOU, so that you can rid yourself of the personality that society implanted in you through brainwashing from the time of youth.  It is amazing and very surprising how many ways that society has succeeded in brainwashing you from the time of your first schooling and throughout you adult years.

Brainwashing cover small

I have written a book called, “You’ve been Brainwashed by Society: the movies that prove it!” by Michael Alvin,  It’s available through Amazon, Amazon kindle, and other retailers.  It will help you get through this stage successfully. It proves many ways in which society has cleverly brainwashed us.  I have approached the topic in a humorous and different way.  I show just how the brainwashing that society has done is reflected in many stories and characters in a lot of popular movies (you’ve probably seen many of them).

The real part that remains after one rids himself of the personality is called your “individuality”.  The word individuality comes from a Latin root which means that you cannot be divided from the Universe.  Interestingly, your individuality is the very lowest that your Spirit reaches down into manifestation.  We are truly not capable of being separated from the Universe, since each of us is actually a part of the Universe that we inhabit.

In my next post, I will invite you to join with me in a deeper discussion of just how this part of your Spirit, your individuality, can be developed.  Each one of us is a unique individual, unlike anyone else in the entire Universe.

I invite you to comment or ask questions about anything in this blog on the form below.  Please do!  Or, feel free to e-mail me at

Meanwhile, may each one of you who reads this blog be individually blessed, guided, and loved by God!

The first stage of Man’s Spiritual development

The first stage in a man’s spiritual development begins with conception.  Surprisingly, to live a physical life is a part of this development!  Man is a spiritual creature passing through matter because he needs a physical life to complete his development.

The human being needs the physical to become a separately conscious individual who can choose by his own volition to develop his Spiritual Self.  Also, the human becomes spiritually strong by overcoming the resistance of the physical world.

There are four stages in the life cycle of Man.  Each stage is a major challenge requiring a completely different orientation to life than he had during the previous stage.

The first stage is physical formation from conception to approximately 18-21 years of age.  During this time, a child develops physically, mentally, and socially to become a basic adult. A physical ego that is based upon matter has been fully formed by this age.

The second stage of spiritual development

The second stage of development is a process whereby the human learns to function as an independent adult.  This involves the establishment of a career, finding a mate, and possibly raising children.  Notice that this requires a complete change from the first stage when the human was, to some extent, a dependent child who needed the support of parents and community to even function. The second challenge is to achieve responsibility and find balance in a home, family. and career.

I an sure that this all sounds boringly familiar.  Yes, but here is the catch.  Modern society has completely missed the actual purpose of life!  After a human has established himself as a reasonably good “householder” who is capable of responsibly taking care of work and family, the real purpose of life should begin.

The entire reason for our physical existence is to establish a body and mentality through which we can become aware of our Spiritual Self and develop our spiritual powers to help others. The complete ignorance of social science about human potential after middle age proves that they are unaware of this basic human purpose. After middle age, social science sees no further stages of development, only the continuation of the middle age stage and its related values.

What is called the “middle-age crisis” is the call of our Spiritual Self to begin development of our spirituality.  The rest of our life should be spent in spiritual practices which bring our Spirit into physical life.  We will discuss this third stage of human development in my next blog.  It will be full of surprises!

The physical level as illusion

In spiritual discussions, I often see the physical referred to as an “illusion”.  It is true that the physical is not Reality and that it is deceptive in its nature.  However, these type of discussions speak of the physical level very negatively, almost as if the writers are in a state of “denial” and just want the physical to go away.

To view the physical so negatively could well be a  block to spiritual development.  Man must first feel that he is separate and in control his own material life so that he can eventually reach the realization of his own limitations and thereby choose to live a spiritual life.

We should be thankful for our physical life even though it is an illusion.  To live physically is the only way that we can become individually conscious of our spiritual abilities and learn how to express them.

There are many valuable lessons to experience in the physical.  It is a school of life.  There is no way that we humans could possibly understand REALITY in the beginning of our lifetime.  Human understanding works in reverse.  It is by first learning that something is not true that we are able to work closer to the truth. We gain knowledge by taking a number of steps which move us slowly away from illusion and closer to the truth with each step.

The problem with Illusion

At first, we are fooled by an illusion.  We then realize our mistake and correct it from there.  The real problem comes about if we make the error of believing that the illusion of our senses is reality, when we believe that the material world is the only reality.  From there the human will quickly sink into the quicksand of material illusion.

quicksandHowever, if a person realizes that the physical is illusionary, it can then become a teacher through which he can move closer and closer to the truth.  He will then find that the physical is a school.

Experimental science works in the same way.  Scientists devise an experiment that reveals some approximate truth.  However, another experiment must be devised in order to reveal what still remains false about our new belief.  Out of the next experiment, we will come a little closer to the truth.  With each new experiment, we gradually work our way out of the illusion that our physical senses have provided to us.

Be sure to join me for my next blog when we will discuss the third stage of human spirituality.  This usually begins at middle age, a time when it is often right to begin our spiritual journey.  By this time, most of us have completely explored and mastered the aspects of physical life.  We are ready to bring the higher spiritual knowledge into our life.  To do this, we must overcome the material ego which we have built.  If we do not, we may lose the chance to fulfill our life destiny and simply spend the remainder of our life in spiritual stagnation.

Until then, bless all of you who read this!  I invite you to subscribe to this blog.  I intend to reveal many mysteries about the spiritual in our life cycle which are not yet known to many people.  This blog is not just a repetition of information that has appeared elsewhere. Much of it will be original teachings.  I believe that it will be worth your time to return.

I would love to hear from you, my readers.  Either leave a comment below in my blog or drop me an e-mail at

The Human Spiritual Circle

Your GPS guide to The Infinite

By Michael Alvin, D.D., Ph.D.

Pastor of Living Circle of Light Church

In my last blog, I promised to talk about the relationship between your Spirit and your ego.  I also said that I would discuss how different your Spirit and your ego are from the way many religions present them to be.

We have established who YOU (your Higher Self) are in reality. YOU are a Son or Daughter of God.  Your Higher Self is made in the image of God. YOU are a self-sufficient Spirit with marvelous powers and access to the Divine Mind.

The fall into Matter

YOU came into materiality to become self-conscious and express your divine capabilities.  However, Man had already had a setback a very long time ago.  He suffered a “fall into matter”. The material level of consciousness is very dark, limited, and dense.

walkg in darkness

Man became fascinated with the physical world and too involved in it.  As a result, he forgot his spiritual nature. The spiritual Light became dim and seemed to vanish.  Man can no longer perceive his spiritual Source since he uses only his limited physical senses. Over a period of time, he developed an ego or lower self.

Man’s lower self

In reality, the lower self or ego is just a center where all of your physical senses meet to help you function in the physical world. It is a practical center to help you survive.  It is not your Higher Self.  It cannot tell you anything about your Source or answer questions about the meaning of Life.  All it can tell you about is the physical, nothing more.

However, the lower self has gained dominance over men.  It does not want to give its position of control back to the Higher Self. Consequently, there is always a battle for control between the lower self and the Higher Self in Man.  Part of any man’s spiritual development is to overcome his lower self by means of the guidance of his Higher Self and its powers.

Unfortunately, Man usually now comes into life, develops his body, creates his social world, works his job, raises a family, and that’s it. He has no idea that, after his bodily and social development, he was meant to learn about his Higher Self and develop his spiritual capabilities.

After we are born, we go through “stages” of life.  This obviously begins with a physical formation period during which our body and cognitive abilities grow.  This is followed by a social activities stage during which we work, raise a family, etc. Yet, most people do not know that there are other stages of growth during which we have opportunities to discover our Higher Selves and learn to develop our spiritual abilities.  However, this does not happen automatically.  We must make sustained conscious efforts over a period of time in order to attain the spiritual level.

Stages of our life

As an analogy to our human life, consider the four stages in the life of the butterfly-   the egg, the caterpillar, the cocoon, and the adult butterfly.  .We may consider that the first two stages of our lives correspond to the egg and the caterpillar stages.  In these two stages, we work and learn how to function socially in the physical world.  We live, eat, and survive like a caterpillar on its leaf.

Within the physical, we become very involved with our survival, our family, our social activities, our possessions, and our worldview. This may be considered to be the spinning of our cocoon. However, since we have forgotten our spiritual heritage, we never go beyond the cocoon stage.  At the end of our life, we still exist only within that terribly limited physical cocoon.

The great loss

We never make the effort to consciously develop our spiritual awareness.  We live and eventually die within the cocoon of the physical, unaware that there were much greater possibilities open to us-   that we could have learned to fight our way out of that cocoon and flown away as a spiritual butterfly!

fighting cocoon

We have no idea that we have a Higher Self that is self-sufficient enough to know the answers to Life’s questions.  We do not know that we have have access to spiritual powers that will enable us to heal ourselves and others.  We hear a faint, half-forgotten, echo of these abilities.  We think we might be more than we know, but, many people never investigate..  There are a few people, however, who do.

Spiritual leadership

This is where our spiritual leaders and churches come into the picture.  Please do not think that I am against traditional spirituality. I’m not; it’s simply that the leaders do not go far enough.  The seeker hears many platitudes, many dry scriptures, and perhaps attends supposedly spiritual meetings once a week.  But they are never inspired or challenged to look within themselves or to develop their own spiritual consciousness and abilities.  They are taught to be followers.  The spiritual leadership seems to want to be spiritual “middle men” for the rest of the seeker’s life.

The job of a spiritual leader

The true job of a spiritual leader is to teach a person how to find his own Higher Self, which is a part of God, so that he may make this important connection for himself.  There is no real spiritual growth if an individual connection with the Divine is not made.  The  seeker is left with only second-hand information “about” God, not the God experience.  You cannot learn about God the same way that you learn about geography in school by reading a book.

You will not be able to overcome your own lower self unless you are taught how to make a direct connection for yourself.  The purpose of our life in the physical is to find our spiritual Self, overcome our lower self, develop our divine spiritual abilities, and help others to do the same.

On our next visit together, we will discuss more concerning the stages of Man’s spiritual development.  The beginning of our development occurs when we discover our spiritual individuality. The opportunity for this often begins with what is called the “middle age crisis”.  Although it is usually not recognized, the calling of the Higher Self is the cause of the dissatisfaction that is felt at this time of life.

Until then, May God Bless All of You

The Second Key to Spirituality

The Human Circle

A guide to the spiritual seeker

by Michael W Alvin, D.D. Ph.D.

Pastor of Living Circle of Light Church

In my last post, I promised to discuss the second key to spirituality. The first key is to become an individual.  Why is this important?  To attain spirituality one must first know himself.  To become spiritual is the joining of who one truly is with the Divine, alone, in the sanctity of the heart.  One must examine his beliefs to be sure that he truly believes them. This is no place for second-hand beliefs if one is to be honest with themselves and their Source.

The second key to spirituality is that you are a Lion(ness), not the gerbil that society has trained you to be!  This is not because you are an animal, but because like the Lion(ness) YOU are strong, resourceful, and fearless.  In the reality of the spiritual, you are nothing less than a son or daughter of God!

The Higher Self of Man

In the religion of Hinduism, Man is considered to be divine in his essential nature.  Zorastrianism asserts that the spiritual flame, the divine fire of creation, is within Man.  And, in Buddhism, the Buddha (or divine) nature is said to be within all men.  Also, in Christianity, there is that well-known Bible scripture which describes Supreme and Divine Beings creating Man. “Then God said, ‘Let us make Man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” (Gen. 1:26, NKJV).

It is irrelevant to our discussion whether a person believes in the particulars of these various religions.  The fact that these supposedly conflicting religions have agreed for thousands of years that Man has a divine nature within him gives this belief astonishing credibility.

Man as Spirit

The Spiritual level is where the God-Self of Man exists.  By “God-Self” I mean that part of every one of us that has this divine or Buddha nature or was made in the image of God.  This is the ultimate YOU, your perfect Self, which I call your higher Self.

sun behind

This perfect image or Divine Idea of Man is a resourceful, self-sufficient Spirit.  Having access to The Divine Mind of The Source, he is completely capable of choosing his course and captaining his ship through the waters of Life.  He is a true Genius who can solve any problems he encounters in Life.

The idea of Man having a God-Self is not heretical because his higher Self is in no way God or The Source.  Rather, he has a God-like nature since he exists within The Source and has access to The Divine Mind and ITS Wisdom, Powers, and Intelligence to the degree that he can fully live his life and solve any problems.  This Self of Man is independent and self-sufficient as compared to animals, but he is always dependent on The Source.

The Third Key

Of course, you can tell from the many troubles in our material world that man definitely has a lower as well as a higher nature.  His lower self is his material ego.  As we shall discuss in my next post, there is a dynamic interplay between a man’s Spirit and his ego which lasts throughout his life.

In fact, this interplay in Man between Spirit and matter was the original basis of religion.  Unfortunately, many religions have lost the real meaning of spirituality, replacing it with only moral and social codes.  There is so much more to spirituality than just morals!

yin yang med

True spirituality enables an individual to see and understand his life from a much higher level.  It shows one how to turn within his higher Self to see more meaning in his life and reveals the way to tune into the Divine Mind of the Spirit to find answers.

A teaching is not spiritual unless it is practical.  An effective spiritual teaching should be able to show one how to change and better their everyday life.  It renders life more sacred and helps one to achieve a higher level of consciousness!  A real spiritual path brings one’s spiritual nature into their physical life.

My next post will surprise you!  I will show how very different your God-self or your Spirit is from the way it has been presented in most modern religions.  YOU are a very powerful being capable of wonderful acts and remarkable understandings.
